THE Welsh Black Cattle Society Bull of the Year 2016 has been announced as Gerddi-Bluog Addewid 4th bred and exhibited by Mr and Mrs Hugh and Jessica Williams, Dolaugwyn, Tywyn, Gwynedd. The bull received 68 points having attended 10 shows.

In 2nd place, for the second year running, is Rhyddid Sgethrog, bred and exhibited by Mrs Lyn Foxwell, Tyddyn Rhyddid, Harlech. The bull received 61 points from nine shows.

In 3rd place is Brysgaga Berwyn 45th, exhibited by Mr Ken Ellis a’i feibion, Ynysfor, Bryncrug, Tywyn who received 24 points from five shows.

Female of the Year 2016 is Blackmixen Sahara, bred and exhibited by Mr and Mrs Robin and Jo Ransome, Lower Storling, Bleddfa, Knighton, Powys, with 41 points from the sveen shows she attended. This was first year out on the show circuit for Blackmixen and for her owners.

In 2nd place is Ynysfor Meg 4th with 40 points from six shows, exhibited by Mr John Hughes, Maes Meurig, Gwalchmai, Anglesey.

In 3rd place is Graig-Goch Ceinllys 5th, exhibited by Mr Carwyn Lewis, Gwarcoed Einon, Llanwenog, Ceredigion, with 31 points from five shows.

Sponsors for the Champions of the Year 2016 are Rumenco, who have awarded product prizes to winners in each of the qualifying shows. The champions will be awarded their prizes at the society’s AGM next May.
