A new breed record for a British Blue bull was smashed at the Border British Blue Club’s 27th annual spring show and sale at Carlisle when Dragon Blues Kai ET was snapped up by a Welsh buyer for 24,000gns.

Shown by G W and K Williams, Kai won his class then went on to secure the Senior Male Reserve Championship. He is a 24 month old son of the Tweeddale Hebony and Dragon Blues Gweno ET flush. He was keenly sought after but the successful bid came from T E Jones and Co, Bailea Farm, Sennybridge, Powys.

The supreme champion, Bedgebury Kent offered by Andrew Price sold for 15,000gns and joins the Stoneleigh herd for EC Haste and Sons.

A further five bulls all sold at 10,000gns or above with a clearance of 84% for the bulls.

Topping the females at 7,000gns was Mel and Diane Lucas’ cow Lukeroyal Fidget ET.
