A NEW motorcycling event for Pembrokeshire has revved up some top fundraising.

The Saundersfoot Motorcycle Time Trial (SMTT) in June, organised by the Pembrokeshire Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club, raised the grant total of £2,000 for charities.

Four charities have each now received a cheque for £500 at a recent presentation made by the club chairman Huw Adams.

They were Wales Air Ambulance, the Paul Sartori Foundation, Blood Bikes Wales (Pembrokeshire) and Cariad Defibrillators Wales.

Representing Wales Air Ambulance were Katie Thomas and Rhys Wakins, while Dr Finlay Mackintosh received the cheque for Paul Sartori and Elly Morgan and Mike Simon were present on behalf of Blood Bikes Wales (Pembrokeshire).

Cariad Defibrillators Wales were not able to attend the presentation evening, but provided first aid cover at the event.

The SMTT, which left from Saundersfoot Harbour, saw the motorcycles completing an 80-mile time trial around the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The furthest-travelled competitor came from New Zealand.
