The tractors then toured the communities of Nantmel, Nantglas, before making their first crossing of the River Wye into Llanwrthwl and navigating their way over the hill track where the cooling breeze was a relief to the drivers before dropping down through the wooded valley side to the Elan Village.

The convoy then took in the reservoirs of the Elan Valley complex, many participants seeing them for the first time, at their lowest level for many years due to maintenance work on Graig Goch Dam then up Penrhiw-wen the Tractors pulled into the layby for refreshments before descending down pass Gwynllyn lake below and down into Cwmdauddwr and over the Wye into Rhayader.
