THE Pembrokeshire County Show kicked off in fine style today (Tuesday) as thousands poured through the gates for day one of the three day celebration of the county’s agricultural heritage.

The roads around the Showground in Withybush were busy from early in the morning as large crowds headed to one of the highlights of the Pembrokeshire calendar.

Among the attractions on Tuesday were the Welsh pony classes along with the ever-popular dairy and beef competitions.

In the Grand Arena the main attraction will be The Imps Motorcycle Display Team.

The Imps are Britain’s biggest motorcycle display team but with a difference – all the team are aged between five and 16 years of age.

Later today the presentation of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Awards in the President’s marquee, will include the President’s Award, Scoveston Crops Award, Student of the Year, and NFU Pembrokeshire Idris Davies Memorial Trust awards.

Next week's Western Telegraph will feature full results, reports and pictures from the Show.
