WELSH fresh produce brand Blas y Tir is celebrating with Ty Hafan, after raising an amazing £11,000, enough to support the Welsh children’s charity for an entire day.
The fundraising, which took place throughout the summer ranged from a charity ball organised and hosted by Blas y Tir, to four members of the 135-strong team taking part in the Ty Hafan Three Welsh Peaks Challenge, climbing Snowdon, Cader Idris and Pen y Fan within 15 hours in June.
“Summer is always a busy time with our Pembrokeshire Earlies in stores throughout Wales, but it was the perfect opportunity to raise a load of money for an amazing cause” explained Megan Tye, marketing executive from Blas y Tir, based in Haverfordwest.
“The two biggest contributors were without doubt the Blas y Tir Pure Pembrokeshire Gold Charity Ball and Three Welsh Peaks Challenge, with both requiring perseverance and hard work by the Blas y Tir team."
The £11,000 also includes generous donations from the public on the Blas y Tir stand at the Pembrokeshire County Show, as well as the Blas y Tir team taking part in the immensely popular Ty Hafan Rainbow Run.
Shelley Kirkham, a regional fundraising manager for Ty Hafan, said: “Blas y Tir has paid for a whole day of care at Ty Hafan which is absolutely fantastic. The £11,000 will go towards caring for children and their families at our hospice, based in Sully, as well as support for families in their own homes.”
