A CARING village which created a real-life illuminated advent calendar has raised £60 for Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.
Penally resident Judy Williams, who volunteers in Tenby's Sartori Stores, devised the December event, which saw 38 residents taking part.
They dressed the windows of their homes with lots of lights and decorations and displayed a number. A new display was revealed each day throughout the festive month at 5pm, and people were able to follow the illuminated advent trail by buying a map and leaflet in exchange for a donation to the charity.
Many more residents showed an interest when they saw the wonderful displays around the village, and Judy is now hoping that this can be an annual event.
She has now presented the cheque for £60 to Paul Sartori clinical co-ordinator, Pat Coombs, who said: "I think that this was a wonderful idea to bring a small community together.
"It is through the generosity of the Pembrokeshire people that we can continue to provide this much-needed service for anyone in the later stages of life-limiting illness."
