Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Carew 3-2 Monkton Swifts

Jack Christopher grabbed a last gasp winner to earn Carew a crucial victory over league leaders Monkton Swifts.

Earlier in the season the Rooks won 4-0 at Monkton Lane, and they completed the double when Christopher slid in at the far post to give his side a dramatic victory and keep his side in the hunt for the title.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 18th minute, Ben Steele cut in from the right and struck a low hard shot in the far corner of Tom Davies’ net.

The Rooks equalised five minutes before the break as Alex Bayley sweetly struck a 12 yard volley crashing into the net.

After the break and the home side took the lead after excellent play by Lloyd Davies, who set up Sam Christopher to score from inside the box.

The Swifts squared matters when they were awarded a penalty after James Russell was fouled. The striker picked himself up to confidently score with the resultant spot kick.

As this top end of the table clash was heading for a draw, up popped Jack Christopher to score a dramatic winner for the Rooks.
