Pupils at Ysgol Pontrobert were very lucky to have a visit from an Ugandan Fairtrade coffee farmer as part of their Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations.
Farmer Nimrod Wambette was spending a week in the area as part of a Young Farmers Club project organised by Ffion Jones, from Dolanog.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from Ysgol Meifod joined the pupils to learn more about how Fairtrade has helped Mr Wambette develop his business.
All the pupils were very interested to learn about the differences between farming in Uganda and Wales.
Headteacher of Ysgol Pontrobert, Catherine Parry, said: “It was an amazing experience for our pupils to meet Nimrod.
“The children learnt so much about the benefits of Fairtrade and about life for our fellow global citizens.”
She added: “It was an honour for us to be part of the project and we look forward to the next project.”
