MORE than 30 organisations and 100 local residents recently came together at Tysul Hall in Llandysul at an event hosted by Ceredigion's MP Ben Lake and Llandysul Pont-Tyweli Ymlaen.

The aim of Ffair Adfywio Llandysul (Regeneration Fair) was to celebrate and learn about the wide range of organisations, clubs and societies in the Llandysul area, and to take advantage of the opportunity to share good practice, ideas and discover opportunities for better collaboration for the benefit of the local community.

Short and lively presentations were received from several organisations during the evening, sharing information about the work they do and their vision for the future. The remainder of the evening was spent networking, chatting and establishing links.

As well as local voluntary groups, such as Llandysul Foodbank and Llandysul and District History Society, the event was supported by external organisations and bodies such as Cered, Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Commissioner, Tai Ceredigion and Wales and West Housing.

The evening concluded with a question and answer session with Mr Lake, with questions from the floor about lack of digital connectivity; the potential loss of access to EU funding and traffic and parking problems in the town.

Mr Lake said: “The fair was an extremely successful event, and I am very grateful to all organisations and volunteers for supporting and participating so positively. It is amazing that so many different societies and organisations exist in a rural area such as Llandysul - all of which make a real difference to the area.”

The evening was led by Cllr Keith Evans. He said: “It was a huge pleasure to facilitate and be a part of the event, highlighting and sharing all the good practice and work being undertaken by so many societies and clubs in the town and surrounding communities.

“It was notable to witness the cohesion and the coming together of minds within the community to positively contribute towards the regeneration of the town.”
