Cannabis cost a Haverfordwest chef his job and his driving licence.
Dylan Alex Brian Kell, of Hill Street, Haverfordwest, pleaded guilty to driving while over the controlled drug limit when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, April 16.
Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said Kell, 20, was stopped by police while riding a KTM 125 as part of a routine check in Upper Market Street, Haverfordwest, on January 2.
“Officers could smell cannabis coming from him when they spoke to him. A roadside test was positive, a blood sample was provided at the station and came back considerable over the limit.”
Mark Layton, defending, told the court that Kell, who had no previous convictions, had already resigned from his job as a chef, because he would be unable to get to work without his driving licence.
Magistrates banned Kell from driving for 12 months and fined him £190.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
The chairman of the bench said: “Taking drugs does have expensive consequences. Seek help if you need it.”
