A CARDIGAN man who was more than double the legal drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for 40 months.
Martin Davies, of Quay Street, Cardigan, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa at Aberystwyth Road, Cardigan, on July 26, when he was stopped. A breath test showed 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
As well as a 40-month driving ban, Smith was fined £280, along with £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
