One of the longest-running markets in Wales, Haverfordwest Farmers Market is celebrating its 20th birthday.

“We are incredibly proud that our little farmers’ market has withstood the test of time,” said manager Joe Welch, food officer at Pembrokeshire County Council.

“It has seen many changes, overcome some difficult times over the years but it’s still here and thriving!”

The second certified market in Wales, Haverfordwest Farmers Market attracts many hundreds of shoppers to its regular Friday markets, which include special events at Easter, harvest and Christmas.

“None of that would be possible without the fantastic array of produce from our wonderful producers, and more importantly, without the tremendous support from the customers,” said Joe.

“Another massive thank you must go to the team at Riverside Shopping Centre for all their hard work, advice and support over the years which has proven to be invaluable.”

Some of the longest-standing traders are still regular faces at the market - including Country Markets, Cig Lodor Meats, Teifi Cheese, Pennsylvania Farm Fresh Eggs, and Cuckoo Mill,

They join other established stallholders and a variety of newer ones including Rocky Bees with a range of Nordic inspired patisseries, Shah Middle Eastern foods, Anuna micro-bakery, and Pembrokeshire Beach Tree who make gifts using sea glass and sea pottery from Pembrokeshire beaches.

Joe added: “Thank you very much from everyone in the Haverfordwest Farmers Market team and here's to the next 20 years!”
