AN award-winning horse breeder was given an equestrian send-off on his final journey at St Tyfriog Church, Llandyfriog
The funeral was for Mr Geraint Davies, aged 77, from nearby Brongest and was held last Friday (January 24).)
Mr Davies was well known for his farming background, his keen interest in vintage vehicles and was especially known for his Shetland Ponies. He was regularly seen winning at the local agriculture shows over many, many years.
Mr Davies requested a horse-drawn hearse 12 years ago for the funeral of his brother Hector and had also given instruction that he should also be conveyed in a horse-drawn hearse.
Kilvey Carriages from the Swansea area were contacted by funeral director Maldwyn Lewis and a team of four black horses and carriage arrived early on Friday morning at Afallon funeral home.
The carriage and horses, immaculately turned out, set on their journey towards Newcastle Emlyn and Llandyfriog.
