Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society has donated £600 to Cardiac Risk in the Young as a result of a successful quiz night.
A fun-filled evening was held at The Pavilion, County Showground, with some teams travelling quite a distance to attend and try their hand at quizmaster Dennis Reed’s variety of questions on a range of subjects.
Winners of Let’s Get Quizzical were the Past Presidents team of Dick Davies
(captain), Roger Mathias, Richard Cole and Mike Davies. In second place were
Wuhan United and third the Pussycats.
Prizes for first, second and third were £100, £50 and £25, sponsored by Jan Pearce, chief executive; Nicola Owen, president, and the show’s marketing team Outsource Me respectively, with all prize-winners donating their winnings to CRY.
A week’s camping stay at Trevayne Farm, Monkstone, Saundersfoot, kindly donated by questionmaster Dennis, was also auctioned on the night by John Landers.
Alan Mason, of CRY, whose son Dean tragically died from a previously
undiagnosed heart condition while on a family holiday in 2010, aged just 26, gave a short talk on the charity and the work it does screening young people in west Wales.
President Nicola Owen was delighted with the success of the event and thanked
questionmaster Dennis, his scorers, the prizewinners for donating their prizes to the charity and everyone for attending.
Next PAS fundraising event will be a lunch on Sunday, April 26.
