A TIMBER building in Plwmp can stay but it cannot be used as a holiday let, the Planning Inspectorate has ruled.

The owner of Ty Log Un had appealed against an enforcement notice issued by Ceredigion County Council last year stating it had been erected for use as holiday accommodation without planning permission.

The council called for the building to stop being used as separate holiday accommodation to the associated dwelling Maesycrugiau, which is listed as a holiday let online, for it to be demolished and all structural and ancillary items removed.

Planning inspector Melissa Hall limited her allowance of the appeal to allowing the approval of the  timber building which “shall be used solely for purposes ancillary to the residential use of the main dwelling known as Maesycrugiau.”

The appeal is dismissed on the remaining matter in relation to its use as holiday accommodation and the enforcement notice on that stands.

“I refuse to grant planning permission on the application deemed to have been made under section 177(5) of the Act in respect of the use of the timber building as holiday accommodation,” states her report.
