There is a saying that we are what we eat.
In the world of computer science there is an acronym GIGO, which is short for garbage in, garbage out – common sense will tell us that we should all eat good quality and healthy food for our wellbeing.
Therefore we should all be supporting our farming community by signing the National Farming Union (NFU) food standards petition to support the farming and food quality we currently enjoy in this country.
The UK Government has the opportunity right now to put into law rules that prevent food being imported to the UK which is produced in ways that would be illegal here.
For your sake and that of future generations please sign the NFU food standards petition at campaigns.nfuonline.com and ask the UK Government to ensure all food imports are produced to the same high standards as British farmers.
So far more than a million have signed, but the population of Northern Ireland is 1.8 million, Wales 3.1 million, Scotland 5.4 million and England 54 million, so come on folks as every signature counts – one million signatures implies a worrying level of apathy – surely dear reader you care – no doubt your children do!
