EXCITEMENT is building in the agricultural community ahead of this year’s Royal Welsh Winter Fair which is being held at the end of this month.

The two-day event is being held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd, just outside Builth Wells, on Monday and Tuesday, November 29 and 30 – and will be the first major event to be held on the showground since the 2019 Winter Fair.

And the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) are looking forward to welcoming returning Winter Fair enthusiasts to the venue for is first major event in two years.

“It won’t be long until the showground is once again full of exhibitors, prize-winning livestock and Christmas shoppers as preparations for the annual Royal Welsh Winter Fair are in full swing,” said a spokesperson.

“Extra safety measures are being put in place to ensure that everyone’s safety is a top priority when they are visiting the showground.

“As one of the finest prime stock shows in Europe, the Winter Fair draws crowds from far and wide to enjoy two days packed full of competitions, festivities and Christmas shopping.”

Visitors will be able to enjoy looking around the demonstrations and exhibitions, as well as listening to carols and bands performing throughout the showground.

“We have had a tremendous response from our exhibitors and traders who are looking forward to set foot back onto the showground in November,” added the spokesperson.

“The society are also looking forward to what is set to be a fantastic two-day event full of festivities in the lead up the Christmas.”

The fair will be opening its doors to the public at 8am each morning and on the Monday evening tradestands will be open through the evening for late night Christmas shopping, while the show will also see the return of a great fireworks display. Due to the Welsh Government Track & Trace regulations there will not be free entry after 4pm on the Monday evening as is usually the case.

All tickets will need to be purchased before the event through the RWAS website in order to comply with the current coronavirus regulations.
