A John Deere owner has been ordered to pay a court more than £1,300 for failing to tell police who was driving his vehicle during an alleged crash near a Powys town’s doctors’ surgery.
Philip Jones, 56, was also handed six penalty points on his licence after pleading guilty to the offence.
The driver of Jones’ John Deere was "allegedly guilty of an offence" that happened in Well Street, Montgomery on November 28 last year, a court heard.
The Llandyssil man’s case was dealt with at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 28. He was fined £865 and told to pay a £346 victim surcharge plus £110 court costs.
Court records show that three other driving offences were withdrawn by Dyfed-Powys Police. They include failing to stop after a road accident which allegedly damaged a Vauxhall Corsa, driving in a public place without due care and attention, and failing to report the incident within 24 hours.
