Tractor runs have become a festive tradition in Powys, with towns and villages turning out to watch hundreds of brightly lit vehicles pass through.

But burglars in Knighton used the cover of the event this Christmas to carry out a raid on properties around the town.

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for information on a number of burglaries that took place in Knighton on December 19 while the Christmas festivities were in full swing.

According to police the burglaries saw "a number of power and garden tools were stolen from out buildings" on the same night the town's Christmas tractor run was delighting residents in Knighton town centre.

A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys said: " Police are investigating a number of break-ins in Knighton on the evening of 19th December 2023 (Night of the tractor run) where a number of power and garden tools were stolen from out buildings."

Dyfed-Powys Police are asking the public to get in touch with the force if they have any information that could help with their inquiries.

If you have information that could help the Police they ask that you ring 101 and ask for PC 1116.
