SENTENCING in the case of a man who admitted stealing a trailer from a farm in Powys has been delayed until March.

Kristian Jones-Davies was prevented from stealing a livestock trailer from a Powys farm on Boxing Day 2022 after he and another man were confronted by a woman and her neighbours as they were leaving the property.

The 33-year-old and his accomplice were confronted by Amanda Bayliss and a neighbour as they were returning home to their remote properties, near Llandrindod Wells.

While his accomplice fled the scene, Jones-Davies locked himself in the Nissan X-Trail he was driving and was eventually apprehended.

He admitted theft when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 14.

Three other charges, of vehicle interference, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance, were withdrawn as it was discovered Jones-Davies has already been sentenced for those matters, serving prison time.

Jones-Davies, of Pump Piece, Leominster, had been due to be sentenced at court on Wednesday, February 28.

A warrant for his arrest was initially issued by magistrates after he failed to show, but it was later withdrawn.

Magistrates had previously asked for an all-options pre-sentence report to be prepared. Jones-Davies will now return to court to be sentenced on March 13.
