The Wales YFC Field Day at Llandovery market once again proved to be a success for members from Pembroke-shire.
Llysyfran YFC reiterated their dominance in the Efficiency with Safety competition by bringing home the trophy once again and Michael Williams winning the shield for highest placed competitor in the first aid section for a staggering fifth time.
Pembrokeshire also won the junior nature trail competition, thanks to the skills of young Eglwyswrw members Emily Lloyd and Sara Watkins, which helped the county to a creditable fifth place overall.
Also making a welcome return to his roots was Pembrokeshire’s own Wales YFC chairman Tim John.
Tim is undertaking a challenge from each county in Wales to raise money and awareness for the Kidney Wales Foundation. Carmarthenshire YFC challenged Tim not to shave or cut his hair from January until the Field Day. This proved to be quite a challenge for the usually shaven-headed Tim, who was more than happy to lose his locks.
